Born in Pasadena, California 1979; I'm an 80's baby.
I was raised in a single parent home by a magnificent woman. It's actually an interesting situation because both of my parents were in my life - I love them and they both contributed to who I am today; but it must be said that they were in my life in two completely different ways. My mother raised me and created the foundation from which I've developed my beliefs, morals, values, strengths, style, eagerness to learn, creativity, love of travel, desire to succeed, willingness to help and if I try to list out everything she's taught me, we'd probably be here all week... It goes without saying that she's done alot, but also that she means the world to me. Above everyone else in my life, my mother was my teacher, my inspiration and my best friend. I say 'was' because she passed away when I was 15. A really long story that saw an amazing single mother finally find a husband and finally enjoy the comfort of being in a situation she believed in. Only to lose her life days after the birth of her second child. The pain was immense. This was a tragedy in every sense of the word. And the full weight of her loss is strikingly evident in each corner of my family to this very day. But in the end, what I pulled from her in my youth has made me into what I am today and that's a blessing that I will never take for granted.
So when asking about this website, you (the reader) must know that I (the author of this blog) am the first born of a woman that dedicated her life to teaching, loving and sharing what she had picked up along the way. Of course there are more individuals that have crafted the stories you'll soon read. And hopefully all of this will give you a broader understanding as to who's behind the wordplay. To sum it up the details are here; a thirty-one year old african american male that loves to write, hates to read (which hardly makes sense), a photographer, with real interests in technology, cars, bikes, planes, trains, movies, music, food, sports, people, places, things and experiences.... And the interesting thing here is that this site really isn't about me or my life, this is site is about 'life'.
In life, there are a great many things that we as individuals can have an interest in. Arguably what we love most (at least subconsciously), is the learning and sharing of new and interesting informations. Through the years, we learn that a lot of the differences between whether we're interested or feel a certain way about the things in life, really comes down to how we're looking at them at that particular moment in time. More often than not, most people don't take or don't have the time to see things for what they're really worth. And in that we can easily miss out on something that could potential fuel a part of us that we didn't realize we've neglected. That's a real problem in our world today and something that needs to be brought to light. On this blogsite, you'll find things that you may have never thought to notice. Or see something that you may have never thought to look for. Not like a hidden treasure or a focused quest to find something in particular. This is a collection of everyday stories from everywhere that can help illustrate the importance of learning more. Or better yet the importance of 'living' in this life. This site in itself is to be an illustration that shows a little bit more of what it means to have friends in your life. Maybe it will breakdown the lyrical prowess of new and old music. Or show the talent and vision of art, architecture, or fashion. Maybe you'll learn just how bees make honey; you never know. Maybe it can give you an example as to why you really should go on that road trip. Or perhaps why you should stop arguing with your brother/sister/father/mother/spouse/in-laws/etc.
The points you'll see on this site are shaped to present you with a fresh look at your world. And attempt to showcase the importance and signifigance of the world around you, me and everyone in between. In the end, wordplay was designed to tell stories that each one of us can and should live in one way or another.
Because you really can if you want to.
